Today we’re going to take a look at a mental or mindset related video to give you some insight on how can you improve your mental game.
You’ll learn how to improve your inner game when it comes to trading.
All is stemming from the foundation of the book that we have called Mindsets of a Master Stock Trader.
How to Balance and Recharge Yourself When Trading?
We’re going to take a look at balancing and recharging yourself when it comes to trading. A lot of people do recharge their cell phones, but they don’t always recharge themselves.
That’s important with anything that you do in life. You need to make sure you have some balance. And if you feel overwhelmed, overworked, or tired in some way, then this should be able to help you to figure out how to find the balance. You’ll learn how to get your sanity back.
I like to look at things in a couple of areas:
- physical sense
- psychological (mental) state
- spiritual state
Here’re our three areas that we deal with as humans. And it’s interesting because when we have everything all work together to balance us out, that is the main goal.
It’s not that one is stronger than the other. You might have the physical sense that’s a little bit more dominant. For other people, the mental state is their strength. Some people have a spiritual state more developed than others.
If that is the case, you need to do something opposite to balance these things out.
Physical part – Example of Working at a Gym
You might work at a gym, and you’re working with clients. You help them lose weight or whatever the case is, build muscle, or eating healthy.
But you’re always doing physical activity. All of this starts stacking and now look at the seesaw concept.
The more weight you’re putting on this physical area, the more you’re involved in that physical state.
You might be at the gym 10 hours a day, doing martial arts, dancing, or whatever it is. And you’re in that physical state of mind. Now, all of this is working the physical part of your whole body, your whole wellness. And all of this now drops down, and now you need something else to balance it out.
Quick question: Do you think you can go home and do more running to balance out the physical?
Well, no, you can’t. You need something else.
- But what is it that you need?
The thing is that you need one of these other forms. You’re going to need either something mental or spiritual.
Focusing Mental & Spiritual Part
Mental could be something like reading. It could be studying or learning. It just has to be something different that’s not physical.
Spiritual could be different for every single individual. For some, it could mean Yoga. For others, it could mean prayer. For some, it may mean jokes because when you’re joking, you’re connecting to your inner self.
It could be communication. If you have friends, they could connect you more spiritually because now you’re dealing with communication, with human relationships. Picking up the phone and talking to a friend, that’s why talking to friends helps. It hits you differently.
Balancing things out (all parts work together)
If you’re looking to balance this out, you have to get some of this other stuff to succeed in that. That might be reading books, playing chess to balance it out.
That way, you’re balanced. And that’s the problem sometimes when you’re a trader for some people. They’re heavy on the mental.
They’re studying a ton. And if you’re studying a ton and you have ten pounds of weight over here, and you have nothing else to balance it out well, that scale is going to tip.
You need something physical to balance out the mental. Or something spiritual to balance out the mental. To balance out the mental, we’ll do physical, or we’ll do spirit.
You might be looking for to balance out the spirit. You might be involved a lot emotionally with the spirit, talking to friends a lot all the time or something similar. Getting away from those friends at some period might be a good decision.
In that case, you might need something mental or physical. You can see where I’m going with this. The thing is that you need something opposite of these. If you have a spirit, you have to have mental and physical.
Maybe you’re doing more mental things, and you’re getting burned out. You have to have spirit and physical. If you’re doing a lot of physical things, you need mental or spiritual things to balance it out.
Key takeaway: Doing something opposite will help rebalance you recharge you and recalibrate you.
If you’re doing physical activity and you’re working out or exercising, you want to go home and recharge. Read a book or talk to some friends. Have some laughs, go to a comedy show.
The same thing if you’re reading and studying. If you’re a college student and you’re studying ten hours a day, or you’re learning a lot about the stock market, you’re going to get burned down if you continue doing only that. That’s why you need a physical activity or something more spiritual to recalibrate that.
This is how you recalibrate yourself overall and create a sense of wellness and balance within your trading. It will help you with your trading education and stock trades.
You can’t just look at the screen all day long. This is why I like making videos. It gets you away from the computer a little bit.
Think about that as you look at what you’re doing and where you are personally a little bit more heavy on.
I hope that our new book Mindsets of a Master Stock Trader will help you find your balance.
