What is the One Thing Stopping You from Trading Success?

June 3rd, 2014

I find that most people who are not successful with what they are doing whether it is business, trading or anything that they want to accomplish are lacking one major thing. This one thing stops them from getting from where they are to where they want to be.

What successful people do is that they have all the things necessary in alignment in order for them to reach success. You can think of this as a domino effect, or stacking any kind of object. When you have all of these objects set up accordingly and you just run through them and the sequence continues, it runs properly and everything just works.

But if you are missing just one piece and are lacking something in that sequence, than eventually that sequence will collapse. So you need to have all of the pieces together in order to reach your final goal that you desire.

Ask yourself this question, “What is the one thing I am missing in order to get to where I want to be with my trading?”  For example, are you missing the patience? Do you have the patience to wait for the right set ups and get in them in that moment or are you getting out of trades to early? Maybe you are not patient enough to hold your trades. If you are lacking patience than you may need to work on it.

On the other hand if you are lacking confidence, what is the thing that you would need to do in order to build up your confidence? Go through this in your own personal self-evaluation and find out what the one thing is that you are missing that will take you to the next level. The one thing that will progress you further in your trading and make you more profitable because there is usually that one major thing that is stopping you from getting to where you want to be.

Go through this exercise and work on those issues. For some people this will be an inner game problem such as what they lack the discipline, mentality, or emotions. For others, this will be an outer game problem, and they may find that they lack the study hours, the time on screen, learning the charts, how stocks move and behave.

For everyone the answer is going to be different but you need to take the time to look at yourself and see what that one major thing is that you are missing that will take you to that next level.
